McMillen’s previous work includes side-scroller Super Meat Boy and the roguelike The Binding of Isaac, the latter of which The Legend of Bum-bo is actually a prequel of.It’s a deckbuilding roguelike where you gather items to modify, upgrade and combine them in interesting ways. You play as the Bum-bo where each one has its own unique abilities, and they smash, bash and splash their way through a series of cardboard monstrosities and large bosses.Every stage is comprised of four rooms where you fight various enemies and a boss, and in order to do this you match tiles on a board similar to the way it works in games like Bejeweled and Candy Crush Saga. This allows you to attack, cast spells and put up your defenses, and since the game features over a hundred items to use, there’s a lot options at your disposal.

Developer Everbyte has today launched the latest episode of its increasingly popular detective thriller, Duskwood. This fourth episode takes us back to the small town of Duskwood, delivering more twists and turns than ever before, as we gradually uncover the truth behind the disappearance of a local teenager. The game has amassed a sizable audience across iOS and Android, with a passionate online community having sprung up to work together, share their findings, and hopefully crack the case. A new physics-based strategy puzzler, Pop Rocket Rescue! has arrived on the AppStore and Google Play today. The aim is to rescue Fizzies, a group of cola-creating (and probably consuming) aliens found throughout the galay. It's all about balance, placement and reach across the games' 13 different worlds. You need to build towers using different shapes, all while contending with gravity. There are different types of Fizzies, each one with their own power such as sticky 'Gloop' and explosive 'Cherry Boom!'. SO each one needs to be placed to great effect. You can even grow your own soda-sentients along the way. You'll also have to defend your towers from incoming meteors, as well as blow apart debris to make more room for further development. It's a nice throwback to the early days of smartphone gaming, but with some clever twists which keep it feeling fresh. You can scour the Pop Rocket Rescue! solar system for free on both iOS and Android right now.

Company of Heroes, the classic RTS that originally launched back in 2006, arrived on iPad earlier this year where it's been met with a positive reception thus far. Now developer Feral Interactive who handled that port has announced that the game will be available for iPhone and Android on September 10th.If you're unfamiliar with the game it sees players taking charge of a squad during WWII and guiding them through events such as the D-Day landings and the liberation of Normandy. You can check out some of the gameplay in the trailer below.Valhalla Lost is a collectible card battler based on Norse mythology which aims to offer a few variations on the popular genre.Possibly the biggest of these changes is the ability to choose when your creatures use their active abilities. This differs from, say, Hearthstone, where these abilities are used passively and you have no input.Another game changer is the block ability, which allows a creature to prevent an enemy's attack when used but only if they give up their own chance to attack in the previous round. When you begin the game, you'll select a character from one of four unique classes, each of which comes with its own unique skills, and equip it with a variety of different armour and weapons. Then you'll select one of 40 card decks depending on your favourite strategy. There are over 200 cards in the game that represent spells, creatures, wards, and traps and new cards will be introduced every three months. After that, the world is your oyster. You can follow the intricate story, participate in multi-battle dungeons for extra rewards, fight your friends in the Bar Fight mode, or take on the world in league play if you're feeling truly brave.A closed beta test is set to begin on September 25th and the developers want you to help them make it the best game it can be.By participating in the beta, you can become a player designer and have your name appear in the co-designer list as well as gain a unique card with your name on it and become a character in Adventure Mode.Or, you could just play for fun and gain exclusive rewards when the game launches. If you're interested, like Valhalla Lost on Facebook or head on over to the official website for more information. You can also play the Android beta version of the game here.
A Land Fit For Heroes is a gamebook trilogy by Richard Morgan, the writer of Crysis 2 and Syndicate, and it's now available on iOS and Android. It all takes place in a dark and grim fantasy world that you'll be venturing through with two other players. Each entry in Morgan's original trilogy followed a different character, you see. And in this multiplayer adaptation you get to be one of them while your accomplices fill the boots of the other two. These characters are: Kirellin of House Caith (a skilled war veteran), Calnar (a young Majak warrior), and Ilaria (an accomplished thief). You all have your own skills and are better in certain situations, then. But you'll need to work together, sharing items and voting on decisions, in order to survive. It should be emphasized that the events, scenarios, and themes in A Land Fit For Heroes gets pretty nasty at times. One of the character's backgrounds involves him getting molested by his father, for example. You'll also hear about children going missing in marshes and machine-demons enacting violent torture.

"Well, I admit that," conceded Miss Cornelia reluctantly. "I'm sorry I raked the doctor off so. It's the first time in my life I've ever felt ashamed of anything I said to a man. I don't know as I shall tell him so, though. He'll just have to take it for granted. Well, Anne, dearie, it's a mercy the Lord doesn't answer all our prayers. I've been praying hard right along that the operation wouldn't cure Dick. Of course I didn't put it just quite so plain. But that was what was in the back of my mind, and I have no doubt the Lord knew it.""I HAVE done so," said Gilbert reluctantly.
