Another of our previous Big Indie Pitch contestants, Arcane Circus, is releasing their newest game Crap! I'm Broke: Out of Pocket today on iOS and Android.Similar to their popular browser game, Crap! I'm Broke, Crap! I'm Broke: Out of Pocket is a hectic life-management game in which you're just trying to get by in an economy-fuelled society. You're living day-to-day, pay check-to-pay check, and hoping that at the end of it all you'll still have enough money to eat.The game consists of multiple mini-game style jobs which either brings you closer or further away from an impending eviction and to keep starvation at bay. As our resident writer, Oscar Dayus, wrote in his Gamescom article, "Crap! I'm Broke is a life simulator without a twist."You can grab the game on Google Play for £1.99/$1.99, and on the App Store for £1.49/$1.99.
If you're looking for card games with roguelike and RPG flavor, Solitairica is one of the more recent entries to the subgenre. The interesting hybrid of solitaire and tactical magic is currently available for £1.99 / $1.99 on the App Store.Choosing between various classes and their unique abilities, Solitairica pits you against randomly-generated beasts in solitaire-based battles. As you try to clear away cards, you must manage health and energy, strategically wield magic, and overcome each enemy's special effects and attacks.Solitairica's genre-straddling gameplay earned it a Silver Award in our review, and you can purchase the game on iPad and iPhone.Phantasy Star is one of those JRPG series that just keeps on cropping up, though very rarely in the West, and its new mobile outing might not shake that trend.Idola Phantasy Star Saga, as it is known, sees you amassing a group of anime teens to go fight monsters in a sci-fi/fantasy environment, probably to save the world from some great evil.48h Studio has announced that its Bronze Award-winning psychedelic dodger Avoid: Sensory Overload has returned to iOS and Android. It was removed from the App Store and Google Play before due to problems with publisher Nuoxygen, apparently. As such, 48h Studio has self-published the game this time around. Not all of the creases have been ironed out, mind."All the people who bought the game are at risk of losing it and we are really sorry for the inconvenience but there was nothing we could do about it," writes Michele Sasso of 48h Studio.Don't worry too much if you did buy the game before and have now lost it. Sasso tells us that Avoid will be free for the next three weeks to give previous owners a chance to get the game back. So get on that. Here are your links: you can grab it on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download].As an additional bit of news, 48h Studio has released a new game called Avoid ZX. That's the game in the screenshot above.Yep, it's a demake of Avoid: Sensory Overload as if it was being released on the ZX Spectrum. That means it's a fast-paced top-down dodger with 1-bit graphics and soundtrack.Pretty neat, huh? You can purchase Avoid ZX for 69p / 99c on the App Store [buy] and Google Play [buy].Right, that's everything, I hope. Over and out.
"I understand now why some men must go to sea," said Anne. "That desire which comes to us all at times--`to sail beyond the bourne of sunset'--must be very imperious when it is born in you. I don't wonder Captain Jim ran away because of it. I never see a ship sailing out of the channel, or a gull soaring over the sand-bar, without wishing I were on board the ship or had wings, not like a dove `to fly away and be at rest,' but like a gull, to sweep out into the very heart of a storm."
