Well, you certainly won't have any complaints like that for the TinyScreen, a portable system small enough to keep in your wallet.</p><p>Hidden behind TinyScreen's 0.96", 96x64 pixel OLED screen is a TinyDuino processor board, based on the similarly Kickstarter-backed Arduino Uno.</p><p>These little gizmos are made up of multiple parts, assembled together like LEGO bricks. The basic kit includes the TinyScreen, TinyDuino processor, TinyShield (a backing unit to hide all the innards), and Lithium battery.</p><p>There are four buttons on the unit much like the ones you'd find on and old-school Casio watch. Pocket gamers wanting to have more precise controls can purchase the Video Game Kit.</p><p>Early Bird pricing for the Video Game Kits is long gone, so it'll cost you $75 to nab one now. The kit includes the Joystick TinyShield, which will add two analogue joysticks to the device.</p><p>All versions of TinyScreen come with freeware clones of the infamous Flappy Bird and arcade classic Asteroids ready to play on the device, and the nature of its open source software means there'll be plenty more to come.</p><p>When we asked project starter Ken Burns about upcoming native games he told us the team were looking into "development on some more games, like Tetris, Space Invaders, and possibly Pac-Man [clones]."</p><p>With the screen being so small it'll be near-impossible to accurately emulate or interpret old console and PC games, but we're still eagerly anticipating gimped versions of Duke Nukem 3D and the odd NES classic.</p><p>Enclosures can be 3D printed for the device, so there'll be all sorts of ways to use TinyScreen - on your wrist, glasses, perhaps even in a mini GBA casing.</p><p>The Kickstarter has already achieved almost four times its target goal of $15,000, and with 18 days left it'll be interesting to see if any stretch goals will be announced.</p>Will you pick one up? This record year has seen Steel Media, the publishers of Pocket Gamer, put on 19 pitching events for indie game makers! And this year we're also going to do something a little extra special - we're going to make that a round 20 with the launch of the brand new Big Indie Awards 2017 in association with indieSky.</p><p>What is it?The Big Indie Awards marks the finale of a year of indie pitching. It offers a chance for both our pitchers and ALL indie developers who may not have made it to our events before, to put their game forward for a chance of global recognition, some cold-hard cash, and a trip to the awards final in Shenzhen, China. All indie developers are welcome, if they have a mobile game project either in the works or released this year.</p><p>How does it work?Developers: simply submit your game through our entry form by October 6. You'll find the Big Indie Awards 2017 page here, and more details below. Those familiar with previous Big Indie Pitches will know how easy it is! We'll need some info, screens, a video, and if possible a link to a playable/live version. That gets entered into the competition.</p><p>These entries will then be filtered into a longlist in a provisional judging process, and then be put in front of our team of crack judges (including journalists, influencers, developers and other experts) who will score each game and create a shortlist. We’ll announce that at the end of October.</p><p>Following that we'll invite at least the top three teams to come to the awards ceremony in Shenzhen on November 21. You'll also spend a couple of days meeting Chinese companies and exploring the beautiful coastal city of Shenzhen (all flights and accommodation will be paid).</p><p>The developers will get a chance to present their games on stage at a ceremony following an indie developer panel and talk. Then the final winners will be revealed.</p><p>Who can enter?Any mobile indie developer who has a game released in 2017 or has one in production that's slated to launch in the next six months can enter the competition.</p><p>If you're completely new to the Big Indie Pitch process, you're very welcome to submit for the first time. But all previously shortlisted Big Indie Pitch entrants since September 2016 will be fast-tracked past the initial filtering process and onto the longlist.</p><p>What can you win?We have an array of prizes up for grabs worth over $25,000 including $15,000 of marketing promotional spend on SM channels, tickets and expo tables at PG Connects worth $5,000, and $5,000 of cold, hard cash - plus paid trips to China (inc flight, accommodation, visa).</p><p>Naturally there'll also be a fair amount of media coverage, an award, and global adoration.</p><p>(Who knows? From becoming a spy to climbing the tallest mountains, VR is set to throw gamers into a variety of brand new experiences.</p><p>However, with so many new games currently in development it’s becoming increasingly harder to identify the best titles within all of the virtual reality games currently in development.</p><p>As such, in association with China’s leading VR company DeePoon, PG publisher Steel Media is proud to announce the launch of the Global VR Gaming Challenge.</p><p>This international VR competition will look to identify the best VR games development talent and concepts, from the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world, whilst also helping to both bring them to the world’s biggest VR market, China, and give them some further exposure.</p><p>The challenge will include a total of $35,000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs for the winners, alongside VR hardware for all longlisted teams, and an expenses paid trip to ChinaJoy, Asia’s biggest game show in Shanghai in July, for the developers that are shortlisted.</p><p>So how do developers qualify for the Global VR Gaming Challenge then?
